West Catholic Rugby Beats Grand Haven in Season Opener

West Catholic opened up the rugby season with a win over Grand Haven 13 to 5. West Catholic was led by Max Boorsma with a try and a penalty kick. The penalty kick came 13 minutes into the game when a Grand haven player tackled Justin Trudell with a high tackle allowing Boorsma to convert the kick. Then, Logan Judd broke through the defense setting up a score for Max Boorsma from three yards out. William Hathaway missed the conversion kick giving the Falcons a 10-0 lead. WC finished out their scoring from a set play off a scrum when Collin Beaudoin fed Josh Colon a ball Colon made a run then giving the Ball to Ross Moore who scored the last point for West Catholic. West Catholic dominated lineout play thank to Scott Zematis, Thomas Gomez, Drew Doyle and Jake Serra.
