    I would like to nominate Bill Whymer for the West Catholic Wall of Fame. He graduated in 1978.
    Bill was a 6-foot-7 center on the varsity basketball team for three years; played football for three years and was a member of the track team for four seasons.
    Bill holds the single-game record for points with 44 vs. Godwin Heights. He had 993 points for his career, Held the record for field goals in a game with 16 and in a career with 369. He made 255 free throws in his career and pulled down 311 rebounds in a season (15.2 average). Shot 51% from the floor. Held the blocked shot record for season (49) and career (122). Also took 17 charges in a season and 31 in a career.
    He led the Falcons to the Class B quarterfinals in the 1975-76 season.
    In track, Bill held the school record for the high and low hurdles.
    Played college basketball for four years at Michigan Tech University. Tech joined the GLIAC for the start of his junior year. He was a two-time member of the all-GLIAC defensive team and was second in rebounding in the conference as a senior.
    Bill lives in Soddy Daisy, Tenn. with his wife, Patti, and two boys, Ryan and Bradley
