Falcons News · Coach Hyland Nominated for Detroit Lions Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Coach Joe Hyland on his nomination for the 2017 Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Year Award presented by Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan!

The winner of the annual Coach of the Year award will be determined by vote from our four media panelists, as well as one vote from the general public.  The coach with the most votes from the general public will receive one vote to go along with the four media panelist votes to determine a winner.

We encourage your faculty, students, student-athletes, and community members to participate in the voting process by visiting www.detroitlions.com/coachoftheyear to vote for Coach Hyland!  Please feel free to promote this via e-mail, newsletter, social media, public address announcement or by word of mouth.

The Coach of the Year winner will be hosted and recognized at the December 16th Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears game and presented with a $4,000 donation to the high school football program, a congratulatory letter from Lions Head Coach Jim Caldwell, and will become the Detroit Lions nomination for the Don Shula NFL High School Football Coach of the Year Award.

Congratulations on your school’s tremendous season and making it to the MHSAA State Football Finals at Ford Field this weekend!  Best of luck!
